I have MRA VT screen http://www.twistedthrottle.com/mra-variotouringscreen-windshield-for-bmw-f800s-f800st-06 on my bike, i dont like it but that was what was on it when i bought it, I get a lot of turbulance around my helmet, that makes a lot of noise, so much that i wear earplugs riding. Also it twists and turns my helmet and i i get tired in the neck from the strain of holding my head still. Feels like the turbulance hits the chin, bottom edge of the helmet almost lifting it and the most turbulance is around my ears/side.

There are a lot of windscreens out there but i dont know which to buy, and as they are expensive i would like to get more info on what to buy that hopefully will remedy my problems.

Some specs that might help you help me, my bike has the original Bmw low seat, handlebars are raised 25mm straight up, i am 184cm tall. My helmet is a Hjc TR-1. https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.s...pping&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping_SE&utm_term=&gclid=CNjjhYiwtNQCFcsdGAoduwkC7g

Which windscreen is most likely to be a good buy that will remedy this?

I have a Madstad 18" smoke tint windscreen. I have a Schuberth C3 pro helmet get wind noise. I also wear custom fitted earplugs that double as earphones and I still get wind noise and some buffeting. I can feel the windstream hitting the top 1/4 of my helmet. It also hits my shoulders and the sides of my helmet. I think that's where I get the most noise.
Some days when the wind is quiet and going in a certain direction relative to my travel, I am in total silence. Other days when the wind is quartering I will get more buffeting and turbulence and noise. I just don't think that any windscreen can counter the affect of the wind.
Traveling at 65 plus miles an hour, I think it is inevitable that you will encounter some noise.
After reading several posts on this forum, I don't think there is a cure all solution. It's is just what you can tolerate and accept.
I had thought about going to a 20" Madstad, but from what others have found out, a taller windscreen isn't necessarily the solution.
I started out with the stock screen on my 2008 F800, and quickly replaced it with an MRA with the adjustable spoiler, and as much as I experimented with it, I always got the same result.
Thats when I went with the 18" Madstad. I am done experimenting and just have accepted a certain amount of wind noise when travelling at speed. At least I don't encounter any severe buffeting. I am resigned to wear earplugs for convenience and hearing longevity.
By the way, I was stopped by the local gendarme and he told me that it was against the law to wear earplugs in both ears.

If you didn't ride so dang fast you scoff law, you wouldn't be stopped all the time.
There have been some changes in the ear plug laws so the citation for ear plugs is spotty.
Hearing loss is cumulative so I will wear them and ignore the ear plug regs.

I have ridden behind you trying to keep up coming down from Newcombs Ranch. You sir fly like the wind and under the radar. So no more comments from the peanut gallery.

I think i would like it to go higher, as it is now i get the helmet lifted but also the jacket feels like it going uppwards. Read something on a forum during my google-fu-moment last night and it suggested that it might not be the windshield but in fact wind from lower down on the fairing being pushed uppwards, the mail cause seemed to be from the area in front and just below the handlebars. Like the sides of the headlamp. I am going to try several things as mounting small pieces of plastic on different parts to test if i get better or worse airflow around the drivers position. Its cheaper to testa around and research first and buy things later.

Mirrors can make a big difference. There is a lot of talk of Aprilla mirrors on the Vstrom site. I have cheap-o mirrors cus the originals died in a wreck and I can't really fault the new ones. There are also wings that mount at the fairing near the bottom of the windshield.
I had that lifting of the helmet on my R65LS. Side winds beat the crap out of me too.
That one I just lived with for a couple hundred thousand miles. Young and dumb.
Maybe my helmets fit better now. I know the Scorpion brand helmets were very comfortable and secure.

I just googled motorcycle fairing wings and a gob of stuff came up. Depends on the bike you have.
Google Away!
Basically they are devices that assist the existing fairing to divert the wind around and away from the rider.

Found a shop that had misc. parts on sale and amongst them was a Givi D332ST windscreen for f800st, with shipping it cost 68usd. Had too try it.
Fitted it just minutes ago and took some pictures of the MRA and the Givi. Testride will be tomorrow morning, it looks promising by the pictures as it is much higher.
Think it looks nice on the bike and doesent destroy it's lines, but yet add's to hight. I am excited! =)

Anxious to hear how it works.

This screen is a huge improvement over the useless MRA varioscreen that was on the bike. Still a bit of turbulance around my shoulders, but nothing that i can't live with, right up at the edge of my shoulders. The noise went down and it feels like i have nothing but calm undisturbed air around my helmet. The lift of the helmet due to the turbulance at the shoulders starts to make a reminder around 150km/h now. Before it started at 80km/h and beyond 120km/h was horrific.
If the screen had keept it's shape like the lines i drawn in this picture i think the screen would have been a 100% hit, now it's like 95%.
But i will keep it as it also handles the airflow turbulance from truck's and big cars really really well, before when meeting a truck on the highway it felt like someone hit you in the side and now that push i completely gone, turbulant air from cruising behind truck's and big cars is almost all gone, no more jerking of the head and shoulders. really surprised at the difference these plastic bits make on a bike, and happy that this gamble payed off. I t will make riding much more pleasant from now on.
Also suprised at how useless my MRA screen has been all this time. But this is my first bike and i have only been driving since 2014 and i am learning more and more.

I am going to make some risers and put between the screen and the bike to test altering the angle and see if that does something for the better or not.

I recently moved from an RT to my 800 ST and I like the stock wind screen. When I rode the RT I was able to play with the electric adjustable windscreen quite a lot. What I found is that I did 90+% of my riding with it all the way down. Part way up I picked up some buffeting and increased wind noise, I didn't get back into clean air until it was nearly all the way up. At that point the negative pressure zone in front of me was so bad my upper body was being pulled forward at highway speeds. Also with the screen up that far I was looking through it, which I also don't like.
The stock screen on my ST puts me in fairly clean air which hits me in the chest and causes only a little wind noise. I do wear custom fit ear plugs make by a hearing aid company except on short commutes and I have also just purchase an RPHA-MAX helmet which is much quieter than my previous helmet.

All that said, I did modify my windscreen a little.
