Tire and wheel balancing

And speaking of balancing tires: I was looking at the new BMW models on my dealer's showroom floor last weekend and noticed, that while the front wheels of the bikes had wheel weights, none of the rear wheels had balancing weights on them as they come from the factory. I wonder what is up with that? Bean counters again?
