Hi all, I found a '16 F800Gt locally with 6 miles on it that's tempting. The only think not on my wishllist is a quickshifter.

Save for new ti(y)res, it's stone stock. I'd need a top box, driving lights, Vstream and...fill in the blank for other needed mods or farkles if you had to start over again, thanks.

6 miles means it probably hasn't had maintenance done.
Brake fluid and antifreeze will need to be changed.
Fuel components may be gummed up.
I wouldn't trust the battery. Check the date codes on the tires - replace if 5+ yrs old.
You'll need to have the dealer do the 600 and 6,000 mile services.

What vibration?? The F800s have an extra throw on the crank w/ a short, rocking arm that balances the engine out very nicely. see PARALLEL TWIN ENGINES | Motorcyclist (motorcyclistonline.com)

True enough, Lithium battery, certainly tires as these are originals, all fluids, likely close to $1k-usd at the stealership.

And every test repost I've read mentioned high rev vibration in the seat and bars, more than most P-twins they say.

So like a virgin in a pole dancing club, my head was spun to a GS locally, a bit like seeing someone who looked like your 1st GF. Starting out in MX, this seems more like what the F800 was meant for.

Anyone with a GS wished they'd bought something else? I'll be tooling around boring flat Florida with the rare 100+ mile jaunt. The owner of the one I saw rode it on 500 mile trips out west and loved it.
