I don't think that is right. My understanding is that the G650 single engine was manufactured in china as is the new 900cc model. The original F650/700/800 engines were manufactured by Rotax with design input by BMW.i believe they are both rotax motors
The original single was a Rotax and manufacturing was shifted to China.I don't think that is right. My understanding is that the G650 single engine was manufactured in china as is the new 900cc model. The original F650/700/800 engines were manufactured by Rotax with design input by BMW.
ok so if i am reading this right the 2013 F800GT motor is Rotax and has no relations to the later 2020 XR 900 Loncin series engine.I don't think that is right. Even if they were the same company the two engines are obviously so different that there is no way that the top end could be swapped.ok so if i am reading this right the 2013 F800GT motor is Rotax and has no relations to the later 2020 XR 900 Loncin series engine.
Thankyou,
I thought they were the same company
i know the motors are different and that is why i want to swap them out and yes the specs are different.I had an F800, i have a F900. They're both parallel twins and that's where the similarities end. A quick Google search for engine specs should have been enough to answer that question.
