Try an AirHawk seat pad, stops your backside from becoming numb, also makes the ride more comfy as well. Saves on a replacement seat to boot.

I am in northern Kentucky - across the river from Cincinnati.

I found the stock seat to be poorly shaped and uncomfortable for really long rides. The stock seat pushes me forward toward the tank, and it just isn't comfy.

I have a Sargeant seat, as well as a stock seat that I changed the shape and added gel pads.

You are welcome to come try these seats and see if they are more comfortable that the stock seat.

The gel doesn't seem to have been a magical addition - "butt" the new shape of the modified seat is much better and it doesn't push me forward anymore.

I might sell you my Sargeant - or maybe just pulling the cover back and reshaping your foam will be better.

Call me after the holidays and we can set up a time/date for you to bring your seat down and see what you prefer.

If money is not a concern, and/or you plan to keep the bike a long time, then it is worth getting a Russell Daylong or a Terry's Custom Seat. I have a Russel Daylong and have done multiple 1000 mile days. It was worth the $800 to me.
