On my way to work this morning I was flicking through the computer settings and found that the temperature was 1.5C at its coldest and 2.5C at its warmest. The odd thing was that the temperature was flashing!

I know it was cold thats why I had my heated grips on level 2 but warning to tell me its cold is this correct? or can't the bike believe its this cold in England lol

Yep, it's supposed to flash from 3C as an ice warning. I saw -5C last year!!

 

It's not flashing it's shivering...

It's supposed to do that as an ice warning (anywhere below 4C I think) - and the display automagically changes to the temp setting each time it drops to that level. A useful function the first time it does it on a ride, but can be a bit irritating if you're riding right at the level and it keeps fluctuating either side of 'cold'!

Temperature gradient between home (1.5C) and Central London (7.5C) this morning really shows the heat given off by the city...

 

i also wondered why the temperature flashed, a good idea, but once you know its cold like that i am only more careful if thwere is damp on the roads.

last winter i rode home from work one night at midnight, the temp was -6C. it was only a 15 minute ride at low speed, but i was shivering time i got home.

that kind of temp is not normal for my area, as being on the south west coast it is usually above freezing on the coldest days. we get more fog than any ice on the road.

yes my s flashs temp warning when its cold,started her up while putting tax disc on my honda 90 sure it flashed LEAVE ME ALONE UNDER THIS QUILT DO NOT WAKE ME AGAIN TILL 1/5/10 should i be firmer with her?

 

I saw it flashing 3-Degrees on my display yesterday... I was going to take it back to the shop... I thought I don't have anything by them on my CD changer!

 

I've seen the flashy indicator in temps below 37, American. Saw the flashy temp light last sunday going over an 8K foot pass in New Mexico. 34 degrees according to the gauge. Had the Gerbing and the Widder gloves and the grips going. Very pleasant indeed.
