The new 2010 F658GS is quite nice, and all that I expected. The stock high seat is even tolerable for rides up to about 300 miles. I'm using a Beadrider however, and that DOES make a difference.
One little thing I've noticed that irks me. This happened once before the 600 mile Run-In service and again on Sunday when I left Atlanta for the trip I'm on now (at 800 miles).
What happens is this: I am running in traffic shifting up and gaining speed but as I approach a light or other obstacle where I need to slow down, I pull in the clutch to downshift and the bike just DIES! It doesn't just die either, if I let the clutch back out it is as if it is in "0" gear, (not neutral) I mean LOW Low LOW, locked up, below first! The wheel grabs and once almost threw me off into a skid. (non-ABS). I quickly have to pull the clutch in again and retry the starter button, which seems to work once I am slow enough. Then it runs fine.
It happened at two consecutive traffic lights leaving Atlanta Sunday. Luckily there was not much traffic. I kinda pulled to one side and it restarted okay.
Any comments, suggestions etc.? Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone have an idea what gives?
