ECU remap on First Service...anyone feel the change?

Just had my first service done. Cost a lot of dough but the ECU remap for full power had a big effect on the bike. It felt like 45-50 HP motorcycle until the service was complete, just a bit slow and unexciting. Picked it up yesterday and the difference was huge. It now feels like a 75 HP bike with kind of torque spread I expected.

I was told by the Service Manager that this would make a difference and he was not joking.

We are not riding the old Boxers of the past, that's for sure.

Anyone else had the dealer do this for them and did you notice the difference?

I just did my 1000 km service and noted a change in the tone of the exhaust along with improved mileage and faster acceleration.
I know that BMW here in Dubai they do the software update if any at each service and the difference was noticeable after this maintenance.

Thank you very much for this info! This is exactly what I experienced, word-for-word as you stated. Just did a nice 80-mile ride today over various kinds of winding roads, freeways, etcetera and was very pleased with the bike's performance after the service.

They should've checked the software version and updated as necessary. My bike was apparently a special order/dealer trade and was spec'd for the lower power. This wouldn't be routine so if they checked and found the current version of the software, you wouldn't experience any difference at all.
