Just thought I'd post this for other readers who may be trying to decide what to do for a windshield.
I got my Cee Bailey's 18" Euro top windshield last night and installed it. I couldn't wait for the ride to work today. I got out this AM and was going about 35 when I knew I had made a mistake in buying this screen. The turbulence and noise on my helmet was crazy. If I leaned down a few inches the noise stopped. I was doing some not so great driving while trying to deal with the noise. So it looks like I have to send it back and get the largest one they have if I want to even try that. I am 5'8" which falls in their 18" screen range, I don't have a freakishly long torso or anything like that. And the screen come to "mouth level" as per their instructions for a good fit.
Some observations: the screen leans back at the same angle of the original, so it is designed to point either at your head or over it if you're lucky. There is a small lip, but nothing significant on the top. I was doing 50mph and it was moving(though not as much as the bobble-head brake fluid reservoir [:)]).

I took a double bubble (about same size as stock) and cut 3 inches off it. Wind noise is gone. I'm 5'11"

I had a lot of buffeting with the stock F650GS windscreen. I'm 5'6" and the bike is equipped with a low seat. I bought the MRA Vario from F800 Depot and I am very pleased [:D] [:D]! It significantly reduced the amount of turbulence around the head and more wind protection for the torso.

Less is more?

I'm using the Cee Bailey's 15" Euro cut on my 650, and it works excellent for me. I'm 5' 10", and using a HJC Symax II helmet. At highway speeds I get a little turbulence (not as much as with the stock w/s), but if I crouch only slightly, I can open my visor or chin piece and not get a wind blast in my face. The windshield is also solid and optically correct (no melted instrument clusters [;)]).

I'm 5'8" and I've been using a Cee Baily 16" inch domed shield for about 8 months now. No buffeting...smooth as silk. The wind hits the top of my helmet (that's where the bugs seem to end up...lol) but my helmet must direct everything backwards with no problems.

I feel like I've read almost every post that exists on this forum (and some other sources) concerning windshields and/or windscreens, and about the only conclusion I have been able to reach is that in the end it all boils down to what works for you as an individual. There have been some very informative post here on this subject but any dicision I can make about what to put on my ST is going to be a matter of deduction and/or trial and error rather than just reading about what someone who is similar in height to me did and feel confident it will work for me.

For example, I am 6'1" tall but my body shape has me with short legs (for somebody my height) and a much longer torso. I also think your individual riding style (amount of forward lean, seat position etc.) will have a major influence on what windscreen will be most effective.

So with that said I too, have started the search for the "holy grail" of the perfect (or almost perfect) windscreen. I just returned from the garage after installing the Laminar Lip on the stock ST windscreen. I started with this as it was one of the less expensive options. I will take her out tomorrow, and see what happens. With all I've read on the subject I am so confused I have no idea what to expect. In fact my expectations are so low, that if things don't seem worse then I will consider the installation a minor success. Not a very optomistic statement.... I know. Be well.
