I haven't seen a F800 GS or the F900 GS, but it looks like it'll compete with those models well. The comparison in real life is where the rubber meets the road really. How well do all the bits and pieces come together? The sum of the parts is more than the individual parts...or so you hope.

The dash looks good, but doesn't seem to have the different screens like the BMW models do. The rear suspension doesn't seem to be electronically adjustable. I do find the Dynamic mode on my XR to be worthwhile. On bumpy surfaces or on gravel roads, I'll set it to that mode and it controls the suspension well.

The front suspension is adjustable, but I think that's an overrated option. Magazine reviewers put a lot of emphasis on this. I doubt I could adjust the front suspension better than the engineers at BMW already have. I'd probably just screw it up and over the time I kept the motorcycle, I'd just keep wanting to get it back where it was. IMHO, having a adjustable front suspension is just another "feature" to tick off on the list of features each bike has. It doesn't mean it is better.

The adjustable windscreen is a great option. I have that on my XR as well. It's amazing how well it works. Did Voge design theirs in a wind tunnel? Will it work as well? If it doesn't...can you buy aftermarket windscreens?

I don't think the suspension has any more travel than the F800GT. For an "adventure" bike, I would expect more. Even my XR that has only pretensions of being an "adventure" bike, has an inch more if I have my specs correct.

In comparison to my XR...I'll keep my BMW. :) FWIW, the first BMW F900 XR cost me about $2K more than the replacement. There are incentives the salesmen can give you that bring the price down. I got almost $1.4? K off just by financing the bike...even though I can pay it off at any time. Okay, I'll take free money. I got a military discount as well. And I got a "demo" discount that was just a matter of waiting a week before transferring the bike to my name. In other words, the MSRP is not firm. Oh!...and I got a free T-shirt! That's worth a lot. Which T-Shirt would you rather wear? One that said Voge? Or one that said BMW? :D :D :D It's priceless.
